Shipping Machinery and Spare Parts to the UAE: Packing and Handling Checklist
Machinery shipping preparation for the UAE starts with a shipment specification, not photographs alone. Describe each machine or spare part, measure the final packed load and explain how it can be lifted, protected and received. Mizan reviews feasibility before confirming transport, equipment and the quoted handling scope.
Start with specifications and useful photographs
For machinery shipping to the UAE, identify each machine, model, function and quantity. Include manufacturer specifications or drawings where available, plus clear photographs of the item, its base, lifting points and proposed packing. Photos support the assessment; they do not establish weight, dimensions or a safe lifting method.
Discuss the actual load with the machinery and spare-parts shipping team. Feasibility comes before a container, vehicle or handling commitment. This guide does not confirm heavy-lift, project-cargo or out-of-gauge services.
Record final packed dimensions and gross weight
Measure length, width and height of every final carton, pallet or crate, including protrusions and the base. Record gross weight per package, including packing, and use consistent units. Unpacked product measurements are not a substitute for the load that will be handed over.
| Detail | What to provide | What to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Item identity | Description, model, quantity and photographs or drawings | The description matches the packed contents |
| Packed load | Package reference, length × width × height and gross weight | Final packing is included; units are clear |
| Lifting | Lifting points, method and centre of gravity where available | Shipper/manufacturer instructions and site equipment |
| Packing | Crate, pallet or carton details; fragile or non-stackable parts | Who designs, supplies and completes protection |
| Sensitive components | Batteries, fluids, fuel or other disclosed contents | Individual acceptance and document review before booking |
| Receiving site | Address, contact, gate access and unloading arrangements | Vehicle access and agreed delivery/placement scope |

If final packing changes, update the specification before booking. Ask for transport acceptance, the charging basis and delivery arrangements to be confirmed separately; a requested arrival date is not a guaranteed timeline.
Explain lifting points and handling requirements
Obtain lifting and securing instructions from the shipper or manufacturer. Identify suitable lifting points and any centre-of-gravity information, restrictions on tilting or stacking, and whether forklift access is available. Do not infer these details from a photograph.
State what equipment is available at collection and delivery and who operates it. If special lifting equipment is needed, disclose that before quotation so feasibility and responsibility can be reviewed. No crane, heavy-lift or placement arrangement is automatically included.
Use a machinery packing checklist with named responsibilities
Agree who is responsible for packing, crating, protection and securing the load. Describe fragile fittings, exposed surfaces, detachable accessories and any parts that must remain together. Identify individual packages so a separate component is not lost within a mixed shipment.
- Record the proposed packing and final package references.
- Ask the shipper or manufacturer to specify protection and handling restrictions.
- Confirm whether accessories are attached or separately packed.
- Agree who checks packing readiness before collection and who handles any changes.
This is a preparation checklist, not a promise that Mizan supplies packing or certifies a packing design. Have the quotation state the agreed packing and handling scope.
Disclose batteries, fluids and sensitive components
Describe any batteries, residual fluids, fuel or other components needing review, even when they are inside a machine or included as accessories. Provide the exact product information, quantity, packing and available technical documents; do not conceal or assume acceptance of an installed component.
Battery cargo from China to the UAE needs individual acceptance review. Use the battery and sensitive-cargo enquiry guidance and ask which documents apply to the actual product and transport mode.
For air transport, consult IATA’s official battery guidance (accessed 16 October 2026). Applicable packing and documentation depend on the battery and shipment configuration; have the requirements reviewed before booking. This is a paraphrase, not a universal document list or an acceptance guarantee.
Prepare small spare-parts shipments for individual assessment
For spare parts freight to the UAE, list the part references, quantities, contents of each package, fragility and final packed measurements. Disclose batteries or fluids separately rather than treating all components as ordinary cargo.
Small China-to-UAE shipments can be reviewed without a minimum shipment quantity for air or sea. This is not no minimum charge, nor automatic acceptance. Compare sea freight options and air freight options against the actual packed load and requested deadline; confirm suitability and full quoted charges.
Confirm destination access before dispatch
Provide the UAE receiving address, contact, receiving hours and appointment instructions. Describe gate height, approach restrictions, available unloading equipment and whether the goods must be placed beyond the agreed unloading point. Include equivalent collection-site details.
Agree who supplies unloading labour and equipment, who authorises the handover and what delivery or placement is included. If access or equipment is not confirmed, ask for the issue to be resolved before dispatch rather than assuming the vehicle can complete it.
Send the shipment specification for quotation, with photographs, packed dimensions, gross weight, lifting instructions, packing responsibilities, component disclosures and site access. The team will review feasibility and confirm the available scope; this guide sets no rates, transit promises or blanket regulatory requirements.
FAQs
Machinery and spare-parts preparation FAQs
- Photographs help show the item and packing, but are not enough on their own. Provide the description and quantity, final packed dimensions, gross weight per package, lifting information, collection and delivery sites and any batteries or fluids. Measurements and handling details should come from the shipper or manufacturer, not be guessed from a photograph.
- Describe the required lifting method, lifting points, centre of gravity where available and equipment at both sites. Mizan reviews feasibility before confirming equipment or handling. Do not assume heavy-lift, project or out-of-gauge capability; the quotation must state any confirmed arrangement and who supplies the equipment.
- Send part descriptions or model references, quantities, package references, packed dimensions and gross weight per package. Add fragility, packing and stacking restrictions, batteries, fluids or other sensitive components, pickup and delivery addresses and the requested arrival date. Acceptance, charging basis and delivery arrangements are confirmed separately.
- Small spare-parts enquiries can be assessed using the actual contents, packing, dimensions, weight and route. China-to-UAE air and sea enquiries have no minimum shipment quantity, but this does not mean no minimum charge or automatic acceptance. Batteries and other sensitive components are reviewed individually before booking.
